A new musical inspired by the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Company opens for four performances on Friday, July 26 at 8:00pm, continuing through Sunday, July 28 , 2013

Powerhouse Theater’s second 2013 musical workshop will run for four performances July 26-28. In the imaginative production idealistic young Brooklynite Trey Swieskowski fantasizes about becoming a superhero while Astrolass, is desperate to pack in her cape. When the two cross paths they hatch a plan to change their lives forever.

Powerhouse Theater is reaching out to people under thirty years old with a special “20 under 30” ticket incentive, which offers them a $20 ticket price on all remaining performances of the new mainstage play When The Lights Went Out and the new musical inspired by the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Company. Full-price tickets to these productions are $40 and $30 respectively.

Powerhouse Theater’s second mainstage production, When The Lights Went Out, featuring Laura Innes and Cotter Smith runs July 17-28. During the night of the 2003 Northeast blackout six New Yorkers connect through interwoven stories. Two strangers fall in love in an epic walk across Manhattan; an older couple marooned in their apartment finally grapples with their past; and an Iraqi immigrant trapped in an elevator chases memories of her lost son and her homeland.
